Edge Training Services

Edge offers a series of educational programs to provide its customers with the tools and training to get the most out of their Edge Software Products. In addition, Edge instructors can build custom courses to meet a client's specific goals and staffing levels.

Courses are typically one-and-one-half or three day programs. Basic courses provide administrators and users of Edge Software Products with a fundamental understanding of the product features and tools and cover such topics as system architecture, user interface, workflow, Builder tools, user organization, administration interface, LDAP, and an overview of content integration.

Advanced three-day training courses provide software engineers, developers or integrators with an in-depth understanding of system architecture, design of custom Look and Feel (LAF), custom login, and custom integration. A significant portion of the advanced enPortal course will be devoted to the discussion of the Content Retrieval System (CRS) which is a key component of Edge's innovative patented technology. Also, a portion of the advanced AppBoard course is dedicated to the Software Development Kit (SDK).

AppBoard training offers four tracks, which can be combined to meet the needs of the individual student:

  • Architecture & Design—A basic introduction to AppBoard, this course covers Installation, Architecture, Deployment Options, Licensing, Terminology, Branding, and how to create and run demos.
  • Configuration & Deployment—This course is designed for the dashboard developer.  It covers Installation, enPortal Integration, and how to build AppBoard Data Sources, Widgets, and Boards.
  • System Administration—This course covers Config Files, Performance Tuning, Log Files, and User/Role Administration.
  • Software Development Kit (SDK)—For building custom solutions, this class details how to use Adobe Flex to work directly with the AppBoard SDK to create boards and widgets that go beyond the capabilities of the standard AppBoard Builder.
